Filmed get-togethers with priests
January 7, 2010
Between 1972 and 1975 St Josemaria, the founder of Opus Dei, undertook a series of long catechetical trips throughout Spain, Portugal and Latin America to talk about God. He had numerous meetings with men and women, young people and priests. In his answers to people’s questions he stirred their hearts and awakened their desire to live a life that is deeply Christian and faithful to Jesus Christ and his Church. During these meetings, they talked about everything: the meaning of ordinary life, marriage as a vocation, the possibility for everyone to be a saint amidst joy and sadness, noble ambitions and difficulties.
In the meetings he had with priests, St Josemaria poured out his heart to them. He spoke to them of the need for priests to be saints, of sacramental life, the situation of the Church, current pastoral problems, the liturgy, and, most of all, charity, especially love for all their brother-priests all over the world.
In this Year for Priests convoked by Pope Benedict XVI, you can watch a number of filmed get-togethers with priests in which St Josemaria thanks them for their faithfulness and encourages them to be “one hundred per cent priests”.
