The celebration of the feast day of St. Josemaria (Patron Saint of Aspire to Inspire Family) began with a Holy Mass at 6 am in the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Hamirpur. Around 1200 people participated in the Mass, including our family members, students from Saint Josemaria Academy (a study centre for school students- An A2I family initiative), and other guests and students from neighbouring schools. God put away all hindrances for us and in the end, circumstances permitted all school students to attend the mass.

The mass commenced with a short introduction about St. Josemaria with special reference to seeking holiness in everyday life and attaining sainthood. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Stephan, our Parish Priest co-joined by 4 other priests. Following this, we expressed our gratitude to St. Josemaria according to Indian traditions.

To enlighten people about St. Josemaria, we distributed prayer cards to all participants. After the mass, there was a short family prayer seeking the intercession of St. Josemaria.

This was the 5th year that we celebrated the feast day of St. Josemaria in Shanti Bhawan, Rourkela (an orphanage and old-age home run by nuns of the Missionaries of Charity). Around 270 believers had gathered for the celebration. The celebration began with confessions and then the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Pradeep Dung Dung, Assistant Parish Priest. Fr. Pradeep specifically stressed on living by faith and cited St.Josemaria as an example of the same. Everyone present there expressed their gratitude to the inspiring saint of ordinary life, St. Josemaria.

The mass was followed by a small programme that began with a video that presented the life and teachings of St. Josemaria, followed by a talk by Anand Tirkey (Co-founder of Aspire to Inspire Family). Next came a dance inspired by the theme of strengthening our faith, as well as a skit based around the key events of St. Josemaria's life, taken from the movie "There Be Dragons" and performed by the students of SJMA (St. Josemaria Academy).

Many people shared their feelings about getting an opportunity to participate in the feast day at Shanti Bhawan and knowing about him. Following the event, we had a lunch programme with the people of Shanti Bhawan. We are very grateful to Sr. Denisa, Superior of Shanti Bhawan and Late Sr. Bridgita, Former Superior who have supported us throughout. We have been doing this to share our joy with the sick, aged and orphans whom Jesus and St. Josemaria loved the most.
