POPE FRANCIS
"I clinch my closeness to the relatives of the victims and the wounded in the attack that occurred yesterday in Dhaka and also in Baghdad. Let us pray together. Let us pray together for them, for the dead and ask the Lord to convert the heart of those full of violence blinded by hatred.”

Minutes earlier, from the window of the papal apartments, Pope Francis challenged young people. The Gospel of the day recalled the time when Jesus sent 72 disciples to preach in the neighboring villages.

POPE FRANCIS
"And I wonder, hear this question: How many of you young people, you now in the square, feel the Lord's call to follow him? Do not be afraid. Be courageous and carry this flame of apostolic zeal to others that have given us these exemplary disciples.”

For the Pope, the month of July will be one of silence and work indoors. Until WYD, he will hold very few public events.
