Saint Josemaria
Favours obtained through Saint Josemaria's intercession

He became one of the family
L. L. B.
Argentina, March 30, 2011
After being married for two years we had a little girl, Maria Paz, who suffered from cerebral palsy. She lived just four years. During that time our business began to go under because of all we had to spend on our daughter’s health needs. We paid for everything we could and every piece of income was used up on the papers and forms, medical consultations, studies and tests, and everything else that was not covered by social services. One day a friend gave us St Josemaria’s novena for work. That same day I began to pray it with my husband. The day we finished it, we received a telephone call with a job offer for my husband as director of a private school in our town – he is a teacher. We owe this to St Josemaria. He lives in my heart, I feel him guiding me, and permanently spurring me on to want to do things well, and do them better all the time. He is part of my life, of our family. His wise advice accompanies us throughout the day, helping us realize that every moment, every situation, should be sanctified. And that’s just a tiny part of St Josemaria’s help, because he has done much, much more for us.

That same day he began to improve
I. O.
Mexico, March 30, 2011
December 4 last year we had an accident at my firm. Several of our workers had second-degree burns. One of them, who is fairly old, began to suffer kidney problems and the doctor advised us to call a lawyer so that he could sort out his will. We did so, but also called a priest. Immediately I began praying the novena to St. Josemaria for the sick, and that same day he began to improve. Now all the injured workers are out of danger.

What’s really important
C. F.
Trinidad, March 25, 2011
Good day, I prayed the novena for myself and my husband and we both got jobs a few weeks after my praying it. I have always believed in the saints so when my friend gave me the novena I felt that it would be helpful and indeed it was but it also helped me remember that what one should seek is a life of service even if it is also a means of supporting oneself. I am hoping that I can always trust in God and be reminded of what’s really important in life.

A difficult pregnancy
Marta M. R.
Mexico, March 19, 2011
I was eight weeks pregnant. I went to the doctor for a check-up, and the analyses and ultrasound were all fine. The baby’s heartbeat was normal and everything was going well. Some days later I fell ill. I was prescribed some medicine to strengthen the baby, but the days went by and it did not improve. I prayed to Saint Josemaria with faith, because I have had devotion to him for many years. I asked him to help me so that the problem would disappear, and later in the remaining weeks of my pregnancy. A few days later I got well. I thanked my lovely Spanish saint countless times. I can’t thank him enough for all the miracles he has worked for my family and me. Endless thanks to Saint Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer.[Read more...]

My travel-card appeared
T.M.S.
Spain, March 10, 2011
I am writing to report a favor from Saint Josemaria. For me as a student in Madrid my travel-card is very important for mobility and time-saving. I’ve used one for ten years and have lost it several times, which has always been a great nuisance. Last time was less than a week ago, on Friday, in the university. The following Monday I looked for it again in the university and couldn’t find it anywhere. As I went home I prayed a novena to Saint Josemaria that it would appear. After lunch I looked at my mail and found a note from my department: it had turned up! Thank you Saint Josemaria for saving me from all the nuisance of applying and paying for a new one.

Unconscious for over 30 minutes
Rafael M. G.
Spain, March 4, 2011
This week I was taken into hospital for an emergency appendix operation. It was about six in the morning, and everything was silent in the A and E department of the private hospital in Madrid. The silence was broken by the desperate shouts of a young father who ran into the children’s emergency section carrying a half-dressed child of 3 or 4. “Please, somebody, help me!” he shouted. He was in pajamas and slippers. “He’s been like this for over 30 minutes, he’s unconscious!” He handed the child to a nurse. I began praying to God with the St Josemaria prayer-card while the nurses and doctor tried to resuscitate the child. I heard the sound of the defibrillator three times as I was finishing the prayers. As I began to pray the card for the second time, there came the sound of a child crying. I started to weep and thanked God.

Juan Godoy
Malaga, Spain, February 25, 2011
Hi, I’m Juan Godoy, 54, raised in Barcelona and have lived nearly 20 years in Malaga, Spain. I have to say that I have known about St Josemaria for over 35 years. When I was quite young I saw some talks about him on TV and it made an impact on me, I could see he had a great personality and “gifts from God”.[Read more...]

I got a contract
A.S.
Brazil, February 18, 2011
I did a novena for work to Saint Josemaria and my prayers were answered. I was on a work placement in a firm, I finished the novena on Thursday, and I got a contract the following Monday. This is one more proof of the blessings obtained through Saint Josemaria.

Calmer, more balanced and less self-centered
Ana María
Madrid, Spain, February 10, 2011
My father died peacefully with St Josemaria’s prayercard in his hand. His peacefulness filled us with courage to face up to losing him. I had such great doubts of faith that it would have been impossible for me even to think of writing all this some years back. But for the past few months something has made me commend my troubled soul to his intercession. In spite of all my doubts, I feel inside me that St Josemaria has moved something in my inner life, and is helping me in a way that is maybe not what I may expect but helps me to change my vital parameters, making me feel like a different person, calmer, more balanced and less self-centered.[Read more...]

A long message
Tovar de Garabito family
Guadalajara, Mexico, February 10, 2011
My Mom, Josefina Tovar de Garabito, has been a Supernumerary almost from the time Opus Dei arrived in Guadalajara, Mexico. She’s now 87. She was blessed by God, together with my Dad (RIP), because they were able to meet Saint Josemaria, just the two of them. The miracles and favors we receive from Saint Josemaria are continuous.[Read more...]

My claim was settled
Álvaro R.
Spain, February 8, 2011
I ordered an item over the internet from a store in England, and everything was fine until I was charged twice for it in error. After claiming for a refund several times it still wasn’t sorted out, and it was a lot of money. In desperation I prayed to St. Josemaria to settle the matter that very day, and promised I would write it down if he did. After a brief exchange of forms the matter was settled. Many thanks to St. Josemaria, who continually grants me great and small favors.[Read more...]

The operation was successful
Daniella B.
Uruguay, February 5, 2011
Two years ago I had to have an operation. I was very scared because I have two children, then 6 and 5. The operation was long and complicated, so from the moment I got the news I began to pray a lot to Saint Josemaria. The operation was successful and today I am fitter than ever. Thank-you Our Lady of Lourdes and my dear Saint Josemaria.

St. Josemaria’s prayer card kept me going
Bonnie O.
Kenya, February 2, 2011
I want to thank the Lord and St. Josemaria for providing me with a job. I had been out of a job since September 2010 but I kept saying the prayer card. I would say it over and over again and it kept me going and I managed for all those months without a job. So last week I finally got a good paying job. I am so grateful and thankful! I have now given the card to my sister who desperately needs a job, and we have faith that she will get something. Thank you Lord Jesus and St. Josemaria! Now I am praying that I do a good job at my work place.[Read more...]

The stone from my ring
Doris Pérez
Rome - Italy, January 27, 2011
I am writing to give thanks for a favor St Josemaria obtained for me for the third time. I bought a ring, and shortly afterwards the stone fell out of its setting. I prayed through St Josemaria’s intercession to find the stone, and found it that same day. I had it repaired at the jeweller’s.[Read more...]

My mobile worked perfectly
Sari P.
Spain, January 26, 2011
Just over a month ago the mobile that I use for work broke. I took it to be repaired, but they told me that as it was Christmas, they wouldn’t be able to do it before January 3. About ten days ago it occurred to me to pray to Saint Josemaria and tell him, “You could mend it for me!” So I asked him for this favour, knowing that he could do it, but thinking that perhaps, too, I could offer up the inconvenience of getting it repaired. I didn’t dare check it before, and today, the day before taking it to the repairers, I asked someone to call me on it. It rang, I answered, and it worked perfectly. I prayed a prayer-card in thanksgiving.[Read more...]
