My first job

I am writing this to thank Saint Josemaria for having found me the best of jobs. I spent 4 months looking for a job. At first it didn’t occur to me to pray to Saint Josemaria. I thought employers would like my resumé straight away, and I didn’t believe the financial crisis would affect me. I sent my resumé to over 50 companies and more than half of them didn’t even reply. I did get included at the start of some selection processes but they always rejected me in the later stages.

The dress was unharmed

Over the years I have received very many favors from Saint Josemaria (...). The latest one is as follows: After looking for a dress for my youngest daughter’s graduation ball for several weeks, we found one. Just two days before the ball she went for a final fitting, and when the dress was on the dressmaker’s table, an oily liquid was spilt on the material. It was a very expensive, delicate dress. I was really upset, because I did not know if the boutique would cover the cost of the dress, or if the dressmaker would lose her job, or, in the best case, if anything could be done to save the dress. As on other occasions I prayed to Saint Josemaria to sort things out. The dressmaker was very good and I was sure she needed her job, there was no time to find a different dress, and I definitely didn’t want to lose the money. The next day they brought the dress back perfectly cleaned and the dressmaker kept her job. Thank you, Saint Josemaria, for interceding for us on special occasions and in everyday things too!

My wife had a melanoma

I am very grateful for the intercession of our Blessed Mother and Saint Josemaria who has brought four great miracles into my life. In 1998 my wife was diagnosed with advanced melanoma. The prognosis was poor: an 80% chance of recurrence within two years and then three years to live. We prayed hard through Saint Josemaria’s intercession and my wife got through that stage. Now she goes for periodic checks and the tumor has not recurred. Many thanks, Saint Josemaria!

Severe depression

I have had serious depression for 15 years. I have been to many doctors. My situation got worse and I was on the point of losing my family and my job. I prayed to St Josemaria and thanks to his intercession a friend gave me the chance to work for him and recommended a doctor he knows. Thanks to St Josemaria I didn’t lose my job and within a month I felt better than I had done for years. My spiritual life is back on track, I have got back to my family and I am working productively. Thank you very much, St Josemaria.

We are achieving one step after another

St. Josemaria continues to intercede for us. First, a job that seemed very difficult to obtain, with a great deal of effort. And miraculously we are achieving one step after another. Every day I pray the Novena for Work, and it gives me plenty to pray about, gives me strength and hope. When you read the Novena you appreciate how all kinds of work are noble and necessary, and you understand the value of work as a means of sanctification.

He lost his wallet with his cards

My son has gone to the USA to study. He had been there for less than a month when he lost his wallet with his debit cards and some cash to buy his books. He called me, very upset, saying he didn’t know what to do. I began to pray the prayer-card of Saint Josemaria from memory, asking him that my son would find his wallet even if it only had his documents in it.

A woman gave him a prayer-card

We were very badly in need of work when a woman gave my husband a prayer-card with a photo of Saint Josemaria. She told him to pray it with a lot of faith. He didn’t, but I did. The very next month he got a job with a well-known firm in our town. I am very grateful.

After five years I succeeded

I was going through a very tough financial situation when I found a prayer and began to pray it every day. It took five years, but I succeeded through the power of God and the intercession of Saint Josemaria Escriva. I found this prayer in the shrine of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception.

She seems like a different person

My daughter had been in and out of work for several years and the work she did find really wasn't work to her full potential. She had again been "laid off" for 3 - 4 months. I started seeing the same signs of depression and self-doubt as previously displayed when she had been out of work. I prayed the novena for work to St Josemaria Escriva and repeated the prayers a second time. She found her present job. Her employment is challenging and she is taking pride in her work. She is so happy and a different person. The people she works with now recognize her creative talents. I am so thankful. I thank God and St Josemaria for the blessings they have bestowed on her.

Getting back into work

Our eldest daughter had been through a patch of health problems and had been off work. Although she was fully recovered she was finding it hard to get back into work, and the stress was having a very bad effect on her. We prayed to St Josemaria for this intention and within a week she got the chance of a temporary job filling in for someone while they were away, in a friend’s office. Because she was a good worker and worked well with others in the team, she was recommended for other permanent jobs. We continue praying, because there is no doubt in our minds of the effectiveness of St Josemaria’s intercessio, especially in work-related matters.
