In September 2002, in the build-up to St Josemaria’s canonization, there were several of us in an Opus Dei Center recalling all the favors and miracles we remembered and had witnessed. Suddenly the mother of one of us had an epileptic attack. We all helped to attend to her and gathered around her to pray to Saint Josemaria with great faith. At that moment the lady suddenly opened her eyes and recovered consciousness. For us it was a clear miracle. Infinite thanks, St Josemaria!

A dream job

Help it keep going

Everything went well in UNIV

During the preparations to go to the UNIV 2012 University Congress in Rome in Holy Week, I prayed to St Josemaria for every little detail. I wanted to be able to experience those days in peace. We had to go via Madrid, and as we are from Nicaragua they laid down all sorts of requirements, not all of which we were able to fulfil. However, we didn’t have any problem on the journey.

Sold for a good price

I have to give thanks because despite the fact that it is difficult to sell an apartment – we had to sell ours because we were working in a different place – I began to pray to St. Josemaria and in less than a month our apartment was sold for a good price. Very many miracles

God bless you all! Through the grace of my Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, we have received very many obvious miracles through Saint Josemaria’s intercession. I have three lovely sons. Every time they fall sick I pray to Saint Josemaria. He cured my five-year-old of attacks of suffocation he used to get: like all the air got forced out of him and he couldn’t breathe. This kept on happening, and I was terrified because I thought he had a heart problem. I prayed with so much love and faith to my beloved Jesus and Saint Josemaria that that same day when I got home from Mass I looked at my little boy watching a cartoon, and he didn’t have any sign of suffocation, he was breathing quite normally without any strain on his little chest. Blessed and praised be my God! He cured me of a terrible influenza that I couldn’t shake off even though I took antibiotics. He freed my husband of many bad things. My mother was swollen all over and from one day to the next all the swelling went down. It is so beautiful how he responds when you seek God with great love, above all in Confession and Holy Communion. That is where I put my whole life and my family’s lives. God bless you and may Saint Josemaria help you in every way.

Work, future and optimism

After seeing how one of my sons was sending his resumé to universities throughout Latin America in search of a teaching post, I began praying the novena for work to St. Josemaria , again and again. Some weeks later my son got a work contract in a good university in a Central American country. This has motivated him to finish his doctoral thesis and prepare for his future job with great optimism. I want to thank St. Josemaria again for this great favor.

My husband and I found work

I would like to write about a favor received: my husband and I both found jobs last year. He had been unemployed for three years, and so had I for several months after giving birth to our daughter. Now he has got a work contract until the end of this year and it is very probable that he will continue working for the same company after that. However, I am a teacher, and my contract ends in August, so I have begun praying the novena to St Josemaria again, and I am asking God that I will find a new job. I entrust everything to the Lord and I leave my future in his hands.

My son’s “mission”

I have a lot of faith in my great intercessor Saint Josemaria Escriva. My son wasn’t speaking, but after I prayed to Saint Josemaria he improved enormously. Today people are impressed by how clever he is and because although he’s only three, he can count up to 40. Then I did a novena asking for the miracle of becoming a mother again, and in less than a month I found I was pregnant! There were problems, but I was given the strength to cope. My marriage was in difficulties, but because of the baby I was expecting, we stayed together. My second son was born prematurely on January 11, and died a few minutes later... I think that God took him because he had already fulfilled his mission: to save our marriage. (...)

An avid Catholic and follower of St Josemaria I myself still find trying times where to have faith and peace is taxing at best. I just turned 40 on Feb 13th. I turned 40 alone in a hotel room. You see I was 5 weeks into a new job with a software company and hired to build them a corporate sales force from the ground up so I could not turn down this trip to the trade show. I was hit with some anxiety attacks and panic attacks as I often am (not quite the brave recon combat marine in the Gulf I was at 19). I prayed and read Josemaria’s works and got thru it (this has a point I assure you). I came home on a Tues and on the Thurs I was told they decided not to build a sales team and I was no longer needed. I have a wife and a 19 month old daughter... this was not a hand I wanted dealt. As I rode the train back home from downtown I prayed and spoke with Josemaria. I felt a strange calm come over me. Instead of having what surely would make anyone panic and even more so myself have an anxiety attack… I was calm. Even as I type I have my days where this world seems a bit left of center and perhaps not worth the anxiety nightmares of the past, the shakes, and so on... I pray to St Josemaria, I read his words on suffering, and still do my best to do the works of God. I will find another job and life will go on. When I lost my job at 30 I fell completely apart. I was an atheist then. Life is different now and I thank Josemaria.

My first job

I finished my studies and began to look for work. But there is a lot of unemployment and it is very difficult for a young and inexperienced person to find a job. I found the prayer-card with the prayer to St Josemaria on the internet, and began to pray it. Soon I went in for a competitive examination for a job, and I was successful. I am really happy, and I am sure I was granted this favour through St Josemaria Escriva’s intercession.
